VCD 2: Typography | Fall 2019

The goal of this project was to create a poster for a hypothetical design convention that would take place at the University of Notre Dame while experimenting with orthogonal, diagonal, and free form grid structures. We were given a list of information that we had to include in the poster, including names, dates, times, sponsors, and location. The rest of the design was free-reign.

My final design is a free form layout that emphasizes the names of the designers presenting at the convention. To create this poster, I cut out slips of paper with the various pieces of information on them. Then, I experimented with a few different arrangements of the slips of paper before settling on the final design. I photographed the final layout and edited the color and type in Photoshop to create a clean, duo-tone poster that effectively combines handmade with digital.
